Last friday reception finished their topic of Traditional tales with a exciting Traditional Tales Day! 

We started the day tasting porridge just like Goldilocks with our friends in Year 1 - some of the children loved it, enjoying two bowls all to themselves!

We then went back to class…

To celebrate World Book Day we had a visit from Spellbinder. This time, he told us the stories of Johnny Appleseed and the Shirt of Happiness. As usual we loved singing, dancing and joining in with the special parade. 

On Wednesday we had a visit from Spellbinder and, had a lot of fun listening to stories and dancing to songs.

What a treat we've all had this afternoon! Our friend, Spellbinder, came to visit and entertain us with his captivating tales and songs! A wonderful afternoon - thank you Spellbinder! Friends Forever.

To celebrate World Book Day, the nursery children listened to Spellbinder tell a variety of stories. They had lots of fun joining in with the singing and dancing.

This week we have been testing different rocks.  We wanted to know whether different rocks would float or sink.

We had a great time on Friday. We had Goldilocks porridge for breakfast, decorated gingerbread men, tested bridges for the Billy Goats Gruff and write about what we'd like to find at the top of the beanstalk. Our costumes were fabulous too. 

Last Friday all Reception and Year One dressed up as different characters from traditional tales. We had a great day, decorating gingerbread men, designing bridges and imaging what would be at the top of the beanstalk. Then finishing the day off with a fun party and fancy dress…

Year 2 enjoyed their PE session with BFC coach James on Thursday.

We were learning how to work well with a partner, give positive feedback and next steps to improve. We had to score as many points as possible whilst accurately throwing and catching.

James chose 4 children who displayed good…

Year 4 took part in a courtroom scene this afternoon. Keira played the defendant, who had stolen some bread to feed her starving family. Jack made an excellent judge and the jury had a really hard time in deciding the verdict.

Our new topic is all about rocks.  We have been observing the differences in different rocks and deciding which type of rock they are.  Can you name any rocks?

Some of the children had been asking to visit the builders working on the new outdoor area, so we went on an outdoor walk!
They were super excited and very curious; they started thinking of all the question they could ask the builders and what they wanted to find out about our new outdoor…
