Online Safety
Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Moor Park Primary School. We use an internet filtering system to help ensure that our internet access is safe and to help safeguard pupils from unsuitable or dangerous material. All online searches that go through the school server are monitored and recorded. Any Online Safety incidents are recorded and managed in line with our Safeguarding, Online Safety and Behaviour policies. Online Safety is taught to all pupils explaining and demonstrating how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.
We can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work with our parents and carers to ensure the Online Safety message is consistent. It is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
You can view our Online Safety policy here.
Keeping Safe Online
Moor Park Primary's Online Safety Box
Following some concerns from children in KS2 around appropriate use of social media and messaging online, we now have a blue box next to the school office where children can post (anonymously if they wish) any concerns around online safety. This will be checked regularly by our Safeguarding Team and appropriate actions taken to address any concerns.
This is called the BOS - Box for Online Safety.
Children in KS2 are telling us that some children are being unkind online via online messaging apps such as Jus Talk and computer games such as Roblox. They have also said that some children are using inappropriate names for themselves online. Please can we ask that you check your child's account and activity and always make sure parental controls are switched on.
If you would like any support or advice with this please contact your child's class teacher, we are more than happy to help.
