We had lots of fun this afternoon challenging each other to some seated fencing matches. The children have enjoyed the Sport 4 Champions programme delivered by Sport Blackpool this half term.

Year 6 have produced some excellent writing based around The Silver Sword which is our novel this half term. Enjoy reading!

This week we have been learning about old toys. We have written questions and then interviewed Nana Roberts about the toys she played with when she was little. We found out lots of interesting information. 

What toys did you have when you were little? 

We worked together to make the different body parts of the Iron Man using junk modelling and silver paper, then we joined them together.  We really enjoyed making him!

We also created our own Iron Man collages.

We are using protractors in Maths this week and some people are finding it a bit of a struggle. We used the visualiser to support our learning and with some collaboration and a bit of peer coaching, most of us have begun to climb out of the learning pit!

We were lucky enough to have a climbing wall delivered on Friday as part of Sport for Champions for Year 6. It was a VERY chilly morning but we were VERY excited to have a go.

On Friday, we were fortunate to have a mobile climbing wall visit school as part of our Sport for Champions programme. It was very chilly but we all enjoyed it and had a great time and challenged ourselves to be brave learners! Well done to those of you who made it to the top!

On Monday Year 6 went to Montgomery for some specialist science teaching about light. We were able to use the labs and enjoy some hands on practical activities.

Breaking News... 

The three bears house has been trashed!
But don't worry... the reception children were very quick to help!
They used their problem solving skills to 'unjumble' all of the bears things into small, medium and large! 
They also made the perfect bowl of porridge for Daddy bear…

After learning about our solar system, we are now designing and creating our own planets! Watch this space to view our progress!

Year 3 went to Blackpool 6th form to take part I the Change for Life Dance festival. We all enjoyed creating and performing a dance to 'Uptown funk'
