We started our new ICT topic this week, learning about sequences of instructions and algorithms.

Year 2 Basketball
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their taster session with Mr Basketball today. It was fast paced and lots of fun. The children are all really keen to join the basketball club now. We were really impressed with your skills children, maybe we have some basketball stars in the making...!
2AP Paper Chain Challenge
We worked in groups of 4. We were given one large piece of paper, scissors and glue. The challenge was to make the longest paper chain.

A visit from Spellbinder
All the children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were treated to a visit from Spellbinder. We really enjoyed listening to Spellbinder tell us enchanting stories and loved singing and dancing along to the Christmas songs.

2JF Gymnastics
We have really enjoyed our PE this half term with Jamie our sports coach. He has been teaching us different rolls, jumps, balances, shapes and ways of travelling. This week we put all of these skills together and created a sequence to music.
Spooky Disco
We had a great time at the spooky disco. Our costumes were fab!
Year 2 visit from the firemen
Year 2 had a lovely visit from the firemen. We learnt what to do if there was a fire at home and the importance of making sure the batteries work in our smoke alarms.
Year 2 PE
We worked with the PE coach to put together our travel, jumps and shapes on the apparatus.
Year 2 Trip to the Park
Year 2 enjoyed walking over to the park on Friday. We did some rubbings of the metal plates, logos, rocks, trees and some of the playground equipment. We are going to be using these to make prints.

Victorian Playground Games
Sue came to school to teach us some Victorian playground games and songs. We really enjoyed it.
2JF playground games from the past
We had a great time today learning about different types of playground games Victorian children would have played. Sue taught us to sing 'Here we go Looby Loo', 'John Kanaka-naka' and the circle game 'all around the village'.
We also had a go at marbles, tiddly winks and pick-up-sticks.
