We've had another leafy day in 1MM. We went across to the park to look for more signs of autumn and found lots of sycamore seeds. We think the squirrels had all the acorns! We then came back to school and write factfiles about autumn. 

We had a great time today learning about different types of playground games Victorian children would have played. Sue taught us to sing 'Here we go Looby Loo', 'John Kanaka-naka' and the circle game 'all around the village'. 

We also had a go at marbles, tiddly winks and pick-up-sticks.

Maddison brought in a leaf this morning that had fluttered through her window. The children said it was just like Laura's Star. We then went on a leaf hunt and had great fun. Albert said the wind was wild!

We had a great day at the zoo learning about the different animals. We identified lots of mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and amphibians (although these were a bit tricky to find).

Yesterday we had lots of fun when Kelly from 'Hands On Animals' came to visit us.  We had the chance to observe animals that were vertebraes and animals that were invertebrate and compared how they move. Some of us were brave enough to hold the animals! 

The bug lady came to talk to us about animal skeletons. We looked at how the different creatures move and thought about how their skeleton helps them to do this. We even got to hold some of them!
