Year 4 - Planetarium Visit
We were invited to visit the planetarium at Unity. We learned lots about the moon and space exploration - it was amazing! Whilst we were there we also got to observe and take part in lots of different science experiments.

During Science Week we learned about the Journey of Water. We started by creating biography clouds about the scientist Henry Cavendish and set up an experiment to try to recreate hydrogen.

Year 4 - Melting!
We made observations of an ice sculpture through out the morning. We measured how it changed over time and recorded our results in a chart and on a line graph. After lunch we were left with a tray of water as the sculpture had completely melted!
Year 4 - Slime!
This half term we are learning about states of matter in our Science lessons. We made cornflour slime and watched it change from a solid into a liquid and back again!
Year 4 - Sound Investigations 2019
In our science lessons we have been learning about sound and how it travels. We created string telephones and cone ears to investigate when we could hear best.
Year 4 - Fit2Go Festival 2019
We visited Blackpool Football Club for the Fit2Go Festival. We took part in different activities like football, dodgeball and handball and played against children from other schools. We also took part in a dance activity with Bloomfield Bear!
Year 4 - Recycled 3D-Model Making
To end our topic on rubbish and recycling we used boxes, tubes and tubs to make our own creations!
Year 4 - Gymnastics 2019
This half term, we have been working with the Sports Coach to create some gymnastics sequences using different body shapes, balances and counter balances and rolls.
Year 4 - Brass
4SK have started their Wider Opportunities lessons with Mrs Doyle. In a concert at the end of last half term, 4SR impressed us so much with how much they had learned, we are now eager to show what we can do!

To celebrate World Book Day we took part in a workshop delivered by the author and illustrator of the Amelia Fang books (Laura Ellen Anderson) She talked about the inspiration for her stories and showed us how she draws different characters. We also had a go at drawing one of the characters…
Year 4 - English
As part of our topic about the Great Plague of 1665, we have read the 'Ring-a-ring-o-roses' rhyme. We found out what each line of the rhyme refers to and even had a go at performing the actions.
Year 4 - Light up models
We have made models of Spiderwick characters with light up features. We used our knowledge of electrical circuits to design and make our models. Here are some of our finished products!
