We used skulls by Escher as a starting point for our own line drawings.  We used different grades of pencil to create tone and texture.

For World Book Day we brought our favourite books to school.  We created a poster of the front cover and shared our books together.

On Monday we welcomed local author Andrew Green to Moor Park. He treated us to a reading of his new book “Who’s Taken It?” and some of us got to be the animals from the story.

To start our new science topic, we had a visit from a butcher who showed us some pig’s hearts. We looked and held the whole hearts, then looked at one which had been cut up. Some of us enjoyed it more than others!

To celebrate the end of our electricity topic we invited our parent's to school to show off our lantern creations.  We were able to buy our lanterns so that we could try them out at home!

This half term we have been looking at different materials in Science. Today we investigated which materials were absorbent or waterproof and which materials we could change the shape of. We worked collaboratively and had an interesting discussion about our findings. 

This week in maths we have been working with fractions!

This week in science we had to investigate what would happen if we didn't want the light on in our circuit all the time - we realised that we had to use a switch!

We thought of questions about rocks that we would like to find the answers to. Both classes worked together on a Rocks Fact Treasure Hunt. Mrs Jefferson and Miss Cooper hid the answers to our questions round the Y3 area and we had to find the answers. It was great…

This half term our Science topic is all about electricity.  We had to decide what equipment was needed and what we would do to make the bulb light up.  We were all bright sparks!
